Intertwining Women Consciousness and Political Consciousness——on the duality of Ding Ling's literary creations

Ding Ling had an acute sense of women consciousness in her works,which showed a peculiar pioneering spirit during the age of May Fourth movement.However in her latr works political consciousness appeared to be the dominating factor with the weakening of the women consciousness.As a result,her works enjoyed the duality of women consciousness and political consciousness with the former as the basis and the lattler as the objective form of expressions,which could be attributed to her theoretical qualities and the limit of her creative thought.In spite of the stress of her political consciousness,the women consciousness exhibited in her works had never been obscure with her concern of the fate of women in times of social changes as embodied in her explorations of national and class liberations.
