Abstract
Osteopontin(OPN)is a secreted phosphorylated glycoprotein which interacts with integrins and CD44 as primary receptors, participates in cell signal transduction, plays critical roles in tumor cell adhesion, invasion, migration, and angiogenesis. An elevated level of OPN expression in the tissues and blood has significant impact on tumor diagnosis and prognosis.Recent studies have revealed that OPN plays an important role in the recurrence and metastasis of breast cancer and ovarial cancer.OPN is likely to be a novel target for tumor molecular diagnosis and treatment. Here is to make a review focusing on the related research of correlation between OPN and colorectal cancer diagnosis, prognosis, metastasis and treatment.
