Research progress in association between osteopontin(OPN) and colon tumor

In recent years,numerous studies found that osteopontin expression(OPN) in colon tumor plays an important role in tumor progression and metastasis.It is expected that OPN could be used as a new indicator in early diagnosis of colon cancer,recurrence and prognosis.It is also potential that OPN could be used to treat tumors and prevent tumor metastasis.Baseel on literatures of recent years,this review explained the contribution of OPN in the tumorigenesis and development of colon tumor,also revealed the clinical potentiality of OPN in the diagnosis and therapy of colon tumor.We hope this review would be helpful for the further discovery of the potential value of OPN on colon tumor.
