Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese and western medicine combined with infrared radiation in treatments of herpes zoster. Methods 70 herpes zoster patients were randomly divided into treatment group consisted of 40 cases treated with traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine combined with infrared radiation and control group consisted of 30 cases treated with western medicine. Results The cure rate in the treatment group was 80.0% and 66.1% in the control group, showing significant difference between the two groups (P 0.05). The total effective rates in the treatment and control groups were 1000% and 90.3%,without significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion The effect of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine combined with infrared radiation is fast and significant in treatment of herpes zoster and with a short course and higher cure rate.
