Abstract

According to the present status of the shallow depth seam,thin base rock and high cutting coal mining face in Donggedu Mine,the 3DEC numerical simulation software was applied to the simulation analysis on the overburden rock structure in the mine and to the rational design of the coal mining face support.The results showed that during the mining process of the high cutting coal mining face in Donggedu Mine,when the mining height was about 4.0 m and the thickness of the base rock was over 30 m,the overburden rock could form a stable pressure bearing structure which would be favorable to the mining operation of the coal mining face.The hydraulic powered support with a working resistance over 7 400 kN per support could be effectively applied to control the roof.The selection of the hydraulic powered support applied to the coal mining face was rational.During the coal mining process,there was no stage subsidence phenomena occurred in the roof and when the main roof was pressurized,the hydraulic powered support would not be jammed by the roof.
