Abstract
Objective: To evaluate function and significance of procalationin(PCT) in early diagnosis and treatment of neonatal infectious disease.Methods: One hundred and twenty one patients were divided into three groups: severe infection group,focal infection group and non-infection group.Their serum PCT,CRP and IL-6 level were detected.Results:PCT、CRP and IL-6 blood level increased significantly in severe infection disease,but PCT increased more signifi-cantly(P0.01).PCT positive rate in serious infection group had extreme significance compared with other two groups(all P0.01),besides the difference between PCT and CRP,PCT and IL-6 were significantly in the three groups(P0.01 and P0.05).Set PCT 2ng/ml as critical value,the PCT speciality in severe infection disease was up to 94.12%.PCT has higher sensibility and the speciality in diagnosis of sevece infection disease compared with CRP and IL-6.Conclusion:PCT increase in severe neonatal bacterial infectious disease,therefore,it can be used as early diagnosis mark in neonatal infectious disease.Its diagnosis value is better than CRP and IL-6,PCT has important signifi-cance in early diagnosis and evaluation of patients prognosis.
