Anther culture is an important tool in advancing plant breeding.This paper reviews factors affecting watermelon anther culture,such as genotype,microspore development stage,medium,carbon source,growth regulator,activated carbon,triacontanol and related aspects.The future research direction of watermelon anther culture is discussed.
