Abstract
.The authors considered that intragluteal injection was the main cause of degenerative contracture of gluteal soft tissue.According to the operative findings and pathological changes of gluteal tissue,it was divided into five types as follows:1.contracture of degenerative fascia,2. contracture of gluteus maximus and fascia,3.contracture of gluteal soft tissue,4.recessive contracture of degenerative gluteal muscles,5.mixed gluteal soft tissue with skin contracture. From 1979 to 1994,34 cases,61buttocks were treated surgicaly, among them,54 buttocks were followed up for a mean of 28 monthes. Evaluation of the clinicalresult was done according to four standards in our hospital and outcomes were satisfactory in 87%buttocks.
