Study on Bilingual Teaching of the Course of Traffic Engineering

Bilingual teaching can help students learn their professional course as well as improve their English level.It is the important and difficult point of teaching reform in Chinese colleges and universities.The significance of implementation of bilingual teaching in the course Vehicle and Traffic Engineering has been discussed.Based on the analyses of the existing problem of bilingual teaching,it suggests that the bilingual material should take inner English materials combined with the related translated professional books in order to keep the essence of English material and grasp the teaching emphasis of Chinese text.When arranging teaching modes,3 teaching modes including bilingual teaching,Chinese teaching,and English-only teaching will be used alternately according to the English level and comprehension of students and teaching contents.For the teaching methods,the traditional methods and multimedia technology should be combined according to teaching practice and the students' cognitive ability and thinking characteristics.
