Abstract

According to the data statistics and analyses of Basic Information Database of Thomson Scientific and Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citation Database,the general situation of Chinese scientific and technical journals and their position in the world are presented in this paper.The results of evaluation of basic scientific indicators for journals and papers in the world by Institute for Science Information of USA are presented.The circumstances of Chinese scientific and technical papers are also assessed.The reasons that bibliometric indicators of Chinese scientific and technical journals have been low are analyzed and measures for improrement are proposed.
