Abstract
A study of relationship between body ingredient and body mass index(BMI) and waist-hip ratio(WHR) is taken based on an investigation of 54 middleaged,well-educated ladies,and measures their height,body weight,BMI,WHR and body ingredient.The experiment reveals that ladies in frequent physical training has weak positive correlations between BMI and body fat percentage,WHR and fat-reduced body weight,strong correlation between WHR and body fat percentage,and weak correlation for the rest(|r|0.4).Conclusions: 1) There's big difference of body fat percentage for the population of the same weight and height,and BMI is not an exact definition of the body fat amount;2) The strong correlation of WHR and body fat percentage reveals the relationship between WHR and body fat amount of middle-aged ladies and their fat distribution character;3) Body fat percentage should be the main index of body fat amount.
