Abstract

Centrifuge model tests are carried out to study the work mechanism of the reinforced earth retaining wall built on soft soil and the rigid foundation with sub-block panels and a whole panel. The results show that: ①in the normal state, the lateral displacement of reinforced earth retaining wall panels is smaller, which means high security;②the deformation of the reinforced retaining wall built on soft soil is greater than that built on the hard soil, and the deformation of the reinforced retaining wall with sub-block is bigger than that of the whole panel;③the reinforced strip strain in the middle is much bigger than that in both ends whether in vertical or horizontal direction.
