Abstract

Objective To observe the early attack of invasive fungal infections(IFI) in children after allogeneic hemopoietic stem cell transplantation(allo-HSCT) and to analyze the relationship between incidence, mortality and itraconazole injection and granulocyte stimulating factor(G-CSF),so as to provide reference for better prevention and treatment of IFI.Methods The clinical data of prevention and treatment of early IFI was retrospectively studied in 87 childish patients undergoing allo-HSCT during March 1,2008 to February 28,2010.Eighty seven patients were divided into four groups: 4 patients in group A received itraconazole injection plus G-CSF treatment,31 patients in group B received other antifungal drug plus G-CSF treatment,48 patients in group C received itraconazole injection only, and 4 patients in group D received other antifungal drug only. The difference between incidence and mortality of IFI in four groups was compared and analyzed. Results There was significant difference in both early incidence and mortality of IFI between group B and group C(P 0.05).No significant difference was found among other groups(P 0.05).Conclusion The clinical effect of prevention and treatment of early IFI with itraconazole injection after allo-HSCT in childish patients was satisfactory.Further study is needed for evaluation of clinical significance of early application of G-CSF in patients with allo-HSCT.
