Abstract

【Objective】The aim of this paper is to study the physicochemical characteristics of the pigment in the mature fiber of green cotton.【Method】The pigment was treated with solvent, light, metal ions, oxidant and reductant.【Result】Natural sunlight could led the color of extracted liquid to become lighter. In the normal temperature, the pigment in green fiber was easily dissolved in the organic solvent with small polar. In contrast it was hard to dissolve in the solvent with big polar. The pigment color was steady when the pH value was in 5-9.The ion concentration of Al3+,Fe3+,Cu2+,Fe2+ and Ca2+ could change the pigment color. The spectrum scanning curve of pigment solution obviously changed, before and after treatment with oxidability and tolerance of reduction, obvious change of the spetrum scanning curve of pigment solution were observed.【Conclusion】The stability of pigment was affected by light, metal ions, oxidant and reductant, and the pigment was lipid solubility material.
