Abstract
Objective] To observe the protective effect of Yinchen Zijin decoction (YZD) on the acute liver injury induced by CCl 4 in mice. [Methods] Acute liver injury model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of 0.12 % CCl 4 . The levels of ALT and AST in serum and MDA and SOD in the liver tissue were measured. Liver index was calculated and pathological changes of the liver tissue were observed under optic microscope. [Results] Both high and medium dose YZD significantly lowered serum ALT and AST, MDA and SOD in the liver tissue and the liver index, and markedly ameliorated the liver damage (P0.05). [Conclusion] YZD can protect against acute liver injury induced by CCl 4 in mice, the mechanism of which may be related to its antiperoxidation of lipid.
