Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the protective effects of Zishenyigan decoction on CCl4-induced liver injury in SD rats.METHODS 48 male SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups:control(Ctrl),model(CCl4),positive(biphenyldim-ethylesterate pills,DDB),and low, medium and high dose of Zishenyigan decoction(ZSYG-L,ZSYG-M and ZSYG-H) group.Rats of ZSYG-L,ZSYG-M and ZSYG-H group were given1.0,5.0,10.0g·kg-1·d-1(i.g.)Zishenyigandecoction for 7 days, respectively. While the control and model groups were given0.9% NaCl injection, respectively, the positive group was treated with DDB0.15 g·kg-1·d-1.After the last time of treatment, each group was given10% CCl4olive oil solution10 ml ·kg-1(i.p.)for 16 h except the control group with 10 ml·kg-1 olive oil solution All groups were anesthetized and the blood was sampled via abdominal aortic, the livers were resected.Liver function index, and liver issue HE staining were determined and analyzed.RESULTS Compared with the model group,ALT and AST in the serum of ZSYG-M and ZSYG-H group were significantly decreased(P0.01).While the activation of SOD(P0.01)was increased and the level of MDA was decreased(P0.01)in liver issue.HE staining results showed that there were significantly injuries in liver cells, with a large number of inflammatory cells infiltrated in the model group. Treatment of ZSYG-M and ZSYG-H attenuated these injuries. CONCLUSION Zishenyigandecoction could protect liver of SD rats from CCl4-induced liver injury.
