Abstract

Objective To evaluate the acute liver injury rat model.Methods 40 SD rats were randomly divided into two groups: 10 rats for control group,30 rats for model group.50% CCl4 olive oil solution(3 ml/kg) was injected intraabdominally for model group rats,saline solution(3 ml/kg) was injected into control rats.AST / ALT levels were compared between the two groups at 24 h,72 h,and one week after the injection of CCl4 or normal saline.The survival rates of two groups at 24 h,48 h post-model were analyzed.The pathological changes of liver at 24 h post-model were observed.Results The ALT / AST level difference between model group and control group was statistically significant(P0.01) at all time points.The survival rate were also statistically significant different between the 2 groups(P0.01) at 24 h,and 48 h post-model.Liver sections revealed acute hepatic necrosis in model group.Conclusion The acute hepatic necrosis model is suitable for further experimental needs.
