Dong Zhongshu's Gong Yang School's Theory of Spring and Autumn and the Confucian Scholars' Personal Transmutation of Han Dynasty

During the period pvevious to Qin Confucian scholars regarded that learning is higher than power,there fore they were idealists.But during the period of Qin and previous west Han they were realists.Since Emperor Wu allepted the proposal of “Dethrone the theories of hundred schools,only retain the Confucianism”,Confucian scholars changed qualitatively into pragmatists and subjects absolutely attaching themselves to monarchical power in personality.Dong Zhongshus opinion accelerated the course of Confucian scholars transmutation undoubtedly.His opinion suggested the consciousness of Confucian scholars; subjectism in personality and the witheredness of academic innovation of confucian scholars.The reason of transmutation is not only the objective condition of political unity,but also the result of self choice of Confucian scholars head by Dong Zhongshu.Exploring the subjective reason and course of the transmutation is the important prerequisite to grasping the historical fate and academic changes of Confucian shcolars of Qin and Han Dynasties.
