Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of low dose Metoprolol treatment on congestive heart failure (CHF) with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Method In sixty and four cases of CHF with dilated cardiomyopathy by low dose Metoprolol treatment lasting from one month to two years, to investigate the improvement in parameters of cardiac function by M echcardiography and electrocardiogram (ECG). Result Compared with the effect of before and after treatment with Metoprolol. It was found that mean heart rate was reduced signific antly, and occurece of the atrial premature beats and ventricular premature beats were decreased, suppresing S T segement soon covered, QTd and/or QTdc was decreased. The parameters of cardaic function by M echcardiography, left ventricular systolic end dimension and diastolic end dimension became normalization all, left ventriculer ejection fraction (EF) was raised signficantly. Conclusion The treatment of low dose Metoprolol may protects that β receptor sensitiveness and normal regulation, to decrease symtom of CHF in patient with dilated cardiomyopathy, to improve cardiac function.
