Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical features of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in childhood and their relationship with renal with pathological types. Methods The clinical data of 30 cases of SLE in childhood were retrospectively analyzed. Results Of the 30 cases of SLE,there were 7 boys and 23 girls with ratio of 1:3.3, and the mean age of 12.03 years. Most patients showed some clinical manifestation in kidney disease (80%).Al1 the 10 cases who were punctured showed some abnormality of renal pathology.ClassⅣ(diffuse proliferation) had the largest case with a percentage of 60%,followed by ClassⅡ(mesangial proliferation,40%).In these patients the incidence of fever was 70%,anemia 60%,skin lesion 57%,ANA 93%,dsDNA 77% and decreased C_3 complement 60%.Conclusion SLE in childhood showed some varied clinical features. There are some relations between clinical and pathological features. To emphasize the value of renal biopsy of LN in childhood is of great importance.
