Clinical observation of locking compression plate in treatment of elderly patient with intertrochanteric fracture

Objective To observe the clinical effect of locking compression plate(LCP) in treatment of elderly patient with intertrochanteric fracture.Methods 192 cases of elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture were randomly divided into observation group and control group,each of 96 cases.Observation group was treated with LCP.Control group was treated with dynamic hip screw(DHS).Observed the clinical effect,operation time,blood loss,visual analog scale(VAS) pain score after 3 days,hospital stay time,fracture healing time and Harris hip function score after 3 months of two groups.Results The total effective rate of observation group was higher than that of control group,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The operation time,hospital stay time and fracture healing time were shorter than those of control group;The blood loss was less than that of control group;The VAS pain score was lower than that of control group(P0.05).There was no significant difference in Harris score 3 months after between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion LCP is an ideal method of treatment of intertrochanteric fracture for elderly patient,should be widely applied.
