Clinical observation of "Shugan Hewei Decoction" for non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Shugan Hewei Decoction in treating non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD).Methods Sixty cases were randomly divided into two groups: Chinese medicine group in which 30 cases were treated by Shugan Hewei Decoction,and control group in which 30 cases were treated by Omeprazole(OME),with the course of 8 weeks.The clinical efficacy and symptom score were observed.Results The total effective rate was 93.3% in the Chinese medicine group and 86.7% in the control group,with a difference between the two groups(P0.001).After treatment,the symptom score markedly decreased in both two groups(P0.001),and with significant difference between the two groups(P0.001).Conclusion Shugan Hewei Decoction is effective to improve the clinical symptoms in patients with non-erosive GERD.The clinical efficacy of Shugan Hewei Decoction is better than the Omeprazole.
