Abstract

Objective To monitor the the expression of NF-κB and apoptosis after intraracerebral hemor- rhage(ICH).Methods We had injected autologous blood 50μl into the right caudate nucleus in rats to make ani- mal model. The rats were randomly divided into test group and sham group of different time points. The expres- sion of NF-κB and apoptosis was detected respectively by immunohistochemistry and TUNEL staining. Results NF-κB expression increased as ear|y as 3h after ICH and enhanced further reaching maximum induction around 72h following ICH.Apoptosis augmented as early as 6h and remained increasing until 72h to 120h after ICH.Conclu- sion NF-κB expression and apoptosis occur in hematoma and its surrounding tissues after ICH.NF-κB may play an important role in secondary tissues injury in perihematomal tissue after ICH,possibly through the upregulation of apoptosis.
