Abstract
Objective: To explore the effects of intermediate filaments(IF) and ultrastructure of rat′s cardiac muscles by single exhausted swimming(SES), so as to provide some morphological basis of the changes of physiology and pathology by the exercise-induced injury and recuperation of cardiac muscle. Method: After exercises of SES, rat′s cardiac muscles were cut off on 0h, 3h, 24h, 48h and 100h. These specimens were treated respectively with regular procedures of paraffin sections and transmission electron microscope(TEM). The paraffin sections were stained by Desmin and Vimentin immunohistochemistry, their mean optics density and percentage of stained areas were observed and calculated. The ultrastructure of muscles were observed by TEM. Result Conclusion: Single exhausted swimming exercises will provide effects on IF and ultrastructure of rat′s cardiac muscles, and the changes of IF and ultrastructure of cardiac muscle cell after exercises of SES are a gradual recuperation process.
