Abstract
One virus isolate was got from peacock flocks.The isolate is able to agglutinate chicken red blood cell which can be inhibited by newcastle disease virus antisera.The isolates was confirmed to be virulent newcastle virus based on minimum embryolethal dose(MELD),mean death time(MDT)of chicken embryos,haemagglutination heat-stability,intracerebral pathogenicity index(ICPI)and intravenous pathogenicity index(IVPI).The results demonstrated that the isolates was viserotropic velogenic newcastle disease virus.
