Abstract
[Objective]The research aimed to provide some theoretical basis for revealing the effects of planting density on the growth of maize.[Method]Taking Kezaoyu 9,Keyu 9572 and Xianyu 335 as test materials, four different planting densities( 60 000,67 500,75 000,82 500 plant / hm2) were set up to study the effects of different planting densities on the agronomic traits, quality and yield of maize.[Result]Different planting densities had different degrees of influences on the plant height, ear position, ear row number, ear length and barren tip of three maize varieties, but they had no great influence on the ear diameter, row grain number and 100- grain weight of three maize varieties. With the increasing of planting density, the yield of maize showed the trend of first increasing and then decreasing.[Conclusion]The optimum planting density of Kezaoyu 9 was 75 000 plant / hm2,while the optimum planting density of Keyu 9 572 and Xianyu 335 was 67 500 plant/hm2.
