On Jiang Jie-shi's Resistance to American's Policy of Two-China

Abstract

After the end of Korea War, the United States, considering the strength of China under CPC as well as the strategic position of Taiwan, put forward the Two-China policy both in the two crises of Taiwan Strait and in the United Nations. For the public interest of China as well as for the need of maintaining the position of the authority under him, Jiang Jie-shi strongly resisted the Two-China policy, stopped the idea separating Taiwan from China, and therefore maintained China as a whole country.
