Abstract
The series active power filter (SAPF) can compensate the harmonic distortion caused by voltage type harmonic source.Circuit parameters of the APF,such as the low pass filter and the high frequency LC filter in the main circuit, have significant influence on the compensation effectiveness. With the help of the power system simulation toolbox of Matlab, this paper presents a theoretical analysis on the selection of APF parameters and a description of the building of simulation models. Results show that the designed APF can well suppress the harmonic distortion caused by a 3-phase diode rectifier.
