Abstract
Objective To explore methods for diagnosis and treatment of primary splenic tumor. Methods Clinical data of 38 cases of pathologically confirmed primary splenic tumor were retrospectively analyzed. Results CT was conducted in 25 cases, ultrasonography in 38 and up-gastridructgraphy in 19. A total of 22 cases received splenectomy and the other 1 underwent biopsy. Pathological examination showed benign lesions in 14 and malignant ones in 24. For patients with malignant tumor, the 3-year survival rate was 58.3% and the 5-year survival rate 25%. Conclusions Imaging examination is the major means for diagnosis of splenic tumor and surgical management is an important approach for its treatment.
