Abstract

To study the dyeing property of chestnut shell pigment in nylon fabrics, this paper discusses the influence of dyeing temperature,pH value of dye bath, mass fraction of pigment and mass concentration of NaCl on dyeing of nylon with chestnut shell pigment and compares color feature, color fastness and ultraviolet resistance of fabrics with direct dyeing and fabrics subject to the process of first mordanting and subsequent dyeing. The experimental result shows that the optimal process of dyeing of nylon with chestnut shell pigment is pH3 ~ 3. 6 and temperature 95 ℃. The addition of neutral electrolyte will reduce the dye uptake of pigment; chestnut shell pigment can improve the performance of nylon fabrics; color fastness of dyed fabrics is over level 4; mordant dyeing has little influence on the color fastness and colored light of dyeing of nylon with chestnut shell pigment; nylon fabrics dyed with chestnut shell pigment have good ultraviolet resistance.
