Abstract
Objective To evaluate the status of mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) on children pneumonia and to estimate the value of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) on diagnosis of children pneumonia pathogenically.Methods MP-DNA detection used PCR technique on the 278 cases diagnosed with pneumonia.Results By PCR,MP-DNA was identified from 68 out of 278 samples (24.5%).Children infected with MP under 6 years old was accounted for 64.7%.Conclusion MP was one of the main microbial pathogens causing children pneumonia,and children infected with MP were getting younger than before.PCR was preferable to be used in pathogenic diagnosis on children pneumonia,in terms of its sensitivity,specificity and speediness.
