Abstract

In this paper, the dynamic response of groundwater level in the lower reaches of Tarim River to the stream water transporting is analyzed by using regressive analysis based on the monitoring data of the groundwater level change after the intermittent stream water transfusion to the dried-up river section in the lower reaches of Tarim River during the period from 2000 to 2002,and the relationship between the stream water transporting and the response of groundwater is revealed. The results show that the response extent of groundwater is gradually enlarged with the increase of the times and volumes of the stream water transportingto the lower reaches of Tarim River for the ecology, however, the response degree and the risen amplitude of groundwater level are reduced along with the increase of the distance away from the river channel;longitudinally, the response scope of groundwater is the largest in the upper reaches, then in the middle reaches, and it is the smallest in the lower reaches of Tarim River. During the second time of the stream water transporting, the groundwater level near the river channel was risen sharply, the response scope of groundwater was enlarged in a great amplitude during the second time of the stream water transporting, and the change of groundwater level is closely related to the times and volumes of the stream water transporting.
