Abstract
[Objective] The research aimed to investigate the genetic diversity and differentiation of T.siluroides populations from Yellow River and Daitong River.[Method] The complete sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene of T.siluroides were obtained by using of PCR and DNA sequencing.[Result] The complete sequences of Cyt b gene(1 140 bp) were obtained from forty seven individuals of T.siluroides, representing two populations from Yellow River and Daitong River, and a total of 12 haplotypes were identified. The genetic diversity of population from Yellow River was low than that of population from Daitong River.[Conclusion] The decline in genetic diversity of T.siluroides population maybe related to human activities and introduction of exotic fishes. The significant genetic differentiation between populations from Yellow River and Daitong River suggested that the two populations should be managed and preserved separately.
