New Space of “Filial Piety” in Field of Psychology

Since ancient times filial piety has a role of maintaining the authority of the family elders and the harmony between family members. It was also recognized as is head of all morals. Filial piety is the ethical foundation of social harmony and stability. Filial piety became the object of ethics and politics research because it has political and social correction function in China feudal society. But the filial piety is not confined to a specific field of study because of itsdiffuseand fundamentalcharacteristics. In recent years,the trend of localization psychology research makes significant changes in study fields and values of filial piety. Taking filial piety in the psychology perspective,study has been done on the changes and differences in variables such as age and region of filial piety attitude,the relationship between filial piety attitude and psychological factors,the possibility of improving people's mental and behavioral conducts through filial piety education and other issues. It enables psychology to become the master line of the filial piety research and the discipline conformity tendency,explores the unique role of filial piety in Chinese psychology and behavior. We discover the rehabilitation potential of filial piety for immoral behavior,as well as discuss some psychological problems.
