Abstract
We established the motion equation of ocean data buoy mooring system to accurately forecast the stress and movement of a data buoy. We presented the calculation method of all external loads on a data buoy and its mooring system. We also obtained the motion equation of a data buoy and the stress formula of its mooring system. We considered the impacts of ocean wave load acting on the mooring system and the wave frequency motion caused by wave load on the mooring system when calculating the external forces of the mooring system. Numerical simulation was conducted in time domain for the motion and tension of a mooring system. Results show that the approach can satisfy the required precision of buoy motion and force analysis in ocean engineering.
