Scientism Thoughts during New Culture Movement:Path,Character and Influence

During New Culture Movement,scientism not only had varied expression in Chinese thought community,but also had changed into novel one in some extent which is different from the western scientism in character.Modern Chinese scientism thoughts mingled with New Culture Movement with the feature of advocated science,scientific spirit and scientific method.It's hard for us to draw a clear line between scientism and advocating science.Thus,scientism thoughts had both the positive and negative influence on modern Chinese thought community.The reason why scientism appeared in modern Chinese thought community lies in the pragmatistic understanding of science.The way to dispelling scientism in China lies in bringing up our nation's own true scientific spirit,but not in objecting to science as new authority,new belief.
