Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between the expression ratios of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),matrix metalloproteinases 2(MMP-2) and matrix metalloproteinases 9(MMP-9) of bone marrow cells and the process of occurrence, progression and infiltrating metastasizing of acute leukemia(AL).Methods All the subjects were divided into untreated AL group, recurring group, remission group, normal control group, group with infiltration and group with no infiltration according to patients′ conditions. In addition, the patients were also divided into acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL) group and acute nonlymphoblastic leukemia(ANLL) group according to FAB classification methods by using the bone narrow slides of 15 normal persons as normal control. Then the expression ratios of VEGF,MMP-2 and MMP-9 of bone marrow cells in acute leukemia patients were tested by using immonohistochemical staining.Results(1)The expression ratios of VEGF,MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the untreated AL group and the recurring group were significantly higher than those in the normal control. The expression level in complete remission group significantly decreased and the expression ratios in complete remission group have significant difference from the untreated AL group, but have no significant difference with the normal control.(2)The expression ratios of VEGF,MMP-2 and MMP-9 in ALL group were higher than those in the ANLL group, whereas there is no significant difference between ALL group and the ANLL group. The expression ratios of VEGF,MMP-2 and MMP-9 in group with infiltration were significantly increased than those in group with no infiltration. Conclusion The expression ratios of VEGF,MMP-2 and MMP-9 of bone marrow cells are closely related to the process of the occurrence, progression and infiltrating metastasizing in acute leukemia.
