Detection the expression of CD44 mRNA in Oral Tissues by Real-Time PCR

Abstract

Objective:In order to study the relationship between CD44 and oral squamous cell carcinomas,in this paper we discuss the expression of CD44 mRNA in oral tissues. Methods: Detected the expression level of CD44 mRNA in 17 cases of normal oral tissues and 14 cases of oral squamous carcinoma tissue by real-time PCR. Results: The expression level of CD44 mRNA in oral squamous carcinoma tissues was significantly lower than in normal oral tissues(P=0.038);Compared with the expression level of CD44 mRNA in normal oral tissues,There had 12 cases(86%) decreased but had 2 cases increased in oral squamous carcinoma tissues. Conclusion: The expression level of CD44 mRNA in oral squamous carcinoma tissues was significantly lower than in normal oral tissues,So the expression level of CD44 may be associated with the morbidity and metastasis of oral squamous cell carcinomas.
