Abstract

Objective To detect the protein expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) and Matrix metallopeptidase 9(MMP-9) and investigate their role in the pathogenesis of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods The protein expression of VEGF,EGFR and MMP-9 of carcinoma tissues tissue and adjacent normal lung tissues(paraffin-embedded tissues) of 136 cases with NSCLC were detected by immunohistochemistry technique. Results The positive rate of VEGF protein was 79.4%,EGFR was 75.0% and MMP-9 was 68.4% in NSCLC carcinoma tissues. The positive rate of VEGF protein was 16.0%,EGFR was 12.0% and MMP-9 was 8.0% in normal lung tissue. There was significant difference of expression of VEGF,EGFR and MMP-9 between the NSCLC carcinoma tissues and normal lung tissue(P0.01).There was an obvious positive correlation among the expression of VEGF,EGFR and MMP-9 in NSCLC.Conclusion Protein expression of VEGF,EGFR and MMP-9 was higher in NSCLC carcinoma tissues, and their expression is closely related to promote the development of NSCLC.
