Abstract
Objective To learn the epidemiological features of bacillary dysentery and provide a scientific reference for formulating prevention and control measures and strategies. Methods Descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on the epidemiology of bacillary dysentery from 2009 to 2011 based on the data collected from China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention. Results A total of 7702 cases were reported in Fuyang from 2009 to 2011 and the average annual incidence was 32.17/100 000.The incidence was 53.40/100 000 in 2011,when the incidence was the highest. There was obvious seasonality in the onset of bacillary dysentery. Most of the bacillary dysentery onset cases were reported in Summer and Autumn. There was significant difference for incidence of bacillary dysentery in gender, with males were higher than females. In occupational distribution, the number of farmers, scattered children and students occupied a large proportion of cases. Conclusion The incidence of bacillary dysentery from 2009 to 2011 in Fuyang showed a rising trend year by year, and the situation of prevention and control was still serious.
