Abstract

In China, no study on the general water diversion efficiency based on system conception were carried for the existing Water Diversion Project from the Yangtze River to the Northern Parts of Jiangsu Province, or in course of layout demonstration of South-to-North Water Diversion. The article puts forward for the first time that research on the general water diversion efficiency should be based on the system conception, which not only has important theoretical significance, but also huge potential economic benefit. Taking the Eastern Route of South-to-North Water Diversion Project in Jiangsu Province as example, the article brings forward that water diversion project can be divided into three subsystems-water raising, water diversion and water storage systems. Aggregation of each subsystem's efficiency makes up of the general system efficiency. It puts forward the content, objective, method, technique route of the water diversion efficiency briefly.
