Effect of Mirtazapine in treatment of depression

Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of mirtazapine in treatment of depression.Methods 120 cases of depression were divided into 2 groups:mirtazapine group and doxepin group,60 cases in each;The clinical effect and adverse reactions were compared.Results There were no significant difference in clinical effect between the two groups(P0.05) .24 patients(40.0%) had adverse reactions in mirtazapine group,and 44(73.3%) in doxepin group,and the difference was significant(P0.01) .Conclusion Mirtazapine and doxepin have the same effect in treatment of depression,mirtazapine cuases slight side effect and is worthy of wide application.
