Surgical treatment of 14 cases of myasthenia gravis with thymoma.

Abstract
Objective To conclude experience of peri-operation and surgical treatment for myasthenia gravis (MG) with thymoma.Methods The clinical data of surgical treatment for 14 cases of MG with thymoma had been analyzed retrospectively.Results None died in 14 cases . 3 cases complicated with myasthenia gravis crisis in early stage post-operation and were saved successfully after treatment of intubations and artificial respiratory machine assisted respiratory. All the cases were followed up 6 months to 5 years, 4 cases of MG relieved completely, 7 cases relived partially and 3 cases didn't change.Conclusion The comprehensive treatment including operation ,radiotherapy and chemotherapy should be considered for MG with thymoma. strengthening the management of peri-operation , preventing and reducing the myasthenia gravis crisis are good to the recovery of patient.
