Abstract

A tower cooling system with radiant cooling ceiling was studied in this paper.By experiment and simulation using TRNSYS,the system operational effect was researched, the influencing factors such as meteorological parameter and subunit construction was analyzed, and the annual energy consumption between this system and a conventional cooling system was compared. Results show that the system has a large cooling capacity enough to meet the demand and keeps room temperature stable. The operational effect is related to outside wet-bulb temperature, cooling load inside the building and heat exchanger construction. As radiant cooling ceiling matches tower cooling system well, the system has a longer operating duration. If it is applied to buildings which need cooling supply all the year, the system will have an apparent effect of energy conservation.
