Applicability Analysis on Ceiling Radiant Cooling with Displacement Ventilation System in Guangzhou

Abstract

With the characteristics of better thermal comfort and lower energy consumption,the ceiling radiant cooling with displacement ventilation system was gradually being accepted by the occupants and had been taken in some civil residential buildings in China.In this paper,using the method of equivalent radiation heat transfer coefficient,the unit area cooling ability of the ceiling radiant cooling system with fan coil was simulated,and the applicability of this system used in Guangzhou was analyzed.The results showed that the ceiling radiant cooling with displacement ventilation system was more suitable for such energy efficiency buildings which had lower envelope cooling load.When the envelope cooling load was lower than 20 W/m~2,a chiller with higher supply water would be used and the reasonable indoor environment and energy efficiency could be achieved.In addition,the cooling load loaded by the radiant ceiling decreased when the personnel density increased,also lowering the supply air temperature with large temperature difference,the same result for the radiant ceiling could be obtained.
