Abstract
Objective:To study the relationship between expression of cell adhesion molecules E-cad and oncogene c-erbB-2 and lymph node metastasis in non-small cell lung cancer ( NSCLC ). Methods: Immunohistochemical method (SABC) was used to detect the expression level of the E-cad and c-erbB-2 in 65 NSCLC tissue specimens. Results: In the group with lymph node metastasis and the group without lymph node metastasis, the positive rate of E-cad were 21.1% and 48.1% respectively. There were significant differences (P0.05) of the expression of E-cad betwten the two groups. In the group with lymph node metastasis and the group without lymph node metastasis, the positive rates of c-erbB-2 expression were 73.7% and 48.1% respectively, with significant difference (P0.05). In the group of NSCLC with lymph node metastasis, the positive rate of E-cad and c-erbB-2 were 21.1% and 73.7% respectively. Correlation analysis showed that there was strong correlation among them. Conclusion: E-cad and c-erbB-2 play an important promoting role in lymph node metastasis in non-small cell lung cancer. The E-cad and c-erbB-2 may closely related with the lymph node metastasis, these genes may predict lymph node metastasis in NSCLC.
