Abstract
Oleic acid trimethylolpropane ester was synthesized from esterification of oleic acid and trimethylolpropane under reduced pressure with SnCl2·2H2O as catalyst. The optimum conditions were found as follows: n(oleic acid)/n(trimethylolpropane) was 3.1,amount of SnCl2·2H2O 4%(based upon mass percent oleic acid),reaction for 4 h at temperature 170℃ and vacuum degree 0.09 MPa.In the optimum conditions, the conversion rate of trimethylolpropane was 94%.The structure of product was identified by IR.
