Abstract

Objective To observe the preventive effect of extraction from Bidens pilosa L on experimental liver injury in mice. Methods Fifty mice were divided into the normal group, model group, the bifendate group [150 mg/(kg·d)],the low-dose[10 g/(kg·d)] and the high-dose[20 g/(kg·d)] Bidens pilosa L Except normal group, the mice models of experimental liver injury in the other groups were set up by carbon tetrachloride(CCl_4).The serum ALT and AST,liver MDA content, activity of GSH-Px were measured to evaluate the protective effect of extraction from Bidens pilosa L on experimental liver injury in mice. Results The extraction from Bidens pilosa L significantly decreased serum ALT,AST and liver MDA content, and elevated activity of GSH-Px induced by CCl_4. Conclusion The extraction from Bidens pilosa L.shows preventive effect on liver injury induced by CCl_4.
