Evaluation of Three Syphilis Serologic Test Methods

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the application value of three serologic tests in the diagnosis of syphilis.Methods A total of 1 552 syphilis positive sera and 1 000 healthy syphilis negative sera were detected with methods of TRUST,TP-ELISA,and TPPA.Results The sensitivity of TRUST,TP-ELISA and TPPA were 50.5%,99.4% and 1 00% respectively;and the specificity of them were 99.8%,99.9% and 100% respectively.Two false positive sera were found in 1 000 syphilis negative sera with TRUST,while 1 false positive serum was found using TP-ELISA,compared with TPPA.Conclusion The sensitivity and specificity of TRUST,TP-ELISA and TPPA to detect the syphilis increase ordinally.
