Abstract
An inhibited brass with arsenic free was designed. The corrosion resistance and corrosion behavior of the alloy in NaCl(3.5%)solution were studied by means of weight loss measurement, electrochemical testing,X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD),scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis(SEM-EDX).The results show that the rare-earth element in the alloy can promote formation of corrosion film, increase polarization resistance and inhibit the corrosion process as the alloy in NaCl(3.5%) solution. The corrosion resistance of HAl77-2-Re alloy is higher than that of the HAl77-2 alloy with arsenic.
